Scammer Posing As Cop Caught Off-Guard After He Video Calls Thrissur Cyber Cell By Mistake: WATCH
The scammer was dressed in police uniform and had also set up the place he was sitting at to look like a police station. He was busted after he mistakenly video called the Thrissur cyber cell officer.
A scammer posing as a police officer dialed a random number in an attempt to commit fraud. However, unbeknownst to him, he had actually called up a real cop, and that too at a cyber cell police station in Thrissur, Kerala.
The scammer was dressed in police uniform and had also set up the place he was sitting at to look like a police station, when the Thrissur police officer picked up his video call. But, when the latter turned on the camera during the call, the scammer was taken aback and stunned to discover that he had actually dialed up a real police officer by mistake.
The entire conversation was recorded and the video was shared by the the Thrissur City Police on Tuesday, and has since gone viral garnering over 8,200 likes and 1,77,000 views.
In the video, the scammer can be heard asking "where are you?" to which the the Thrissur cop, who had initially turned off his camera, replies: "My camera is not working properly sir".
When the scammer insisted, the cop turned on the camera and asked, "What do you do?" The scammer, who was caught off guard, laughed in disbelief after realising his mistake as the cop asked him to stop committing such scams. "Stop doing this work...I have your address, your location, and everything...This is cyber cell. It's best you stop doing this work," the Thrissur cop warns the scammer.

Netizens found the video amusing and enjoyed the humourous twist as they heaped praises at the Thrissur police in the comment section.
"This is the first time a thief is laughing when caught by the police," an Instagram user commented on the post.
