'BJP Avenging Lok Sabha Defeat': Akhilesh Yadav Alleges 'Conspiracy' In Sultanpur Robbery Encounter

The accused in the Sultanpur jewellery store robbery was shot dead by UP Police's Special Task Force (STF) during a pre-dawn encounter in the Unnao district.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Monday alleged conspirary after a second accused arrested in the Sultanpur robbery case was killed during a police encounter as a "conspiracy" against Uttar Pradesh's future. He alleged that the BJP is seeking revenge for its defeat in the state's Lok Sabha elections.

The accused in the Sultanpur jewellery store robbery, Anuj Pratap Singh, was shot dead by the Uttar Pradesh Police's Special Task Force (STF) during a pre-dawn encounter in Unnao district.

This incident follows a previous encounter on September 5, where Mangesh Yadav, another suspect in the August 28 robbery, was also killed by the STF. Yadav had earlier labeled Mangesh's encounter as "fake" and caste-motivated, condemning the BJP-led state government.

Any Fake Encounter Of Anyone Is Injustice: SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav

In response to this encounter, Yadav said in a post on X, "The weakest people consider encounters as their strength. Any fake encounter of anyone is injustice. Tarnishing the image of Uttar Pradesh with violence and blood is a big conspiracy against the future of the state." The former chief minister also accused the ruling BJP of deliberately creating unrest in Uttar Pradesh, anticipating electoral defeat.

"Those in power today know that they will never be re-elected in the future. That is why, before leaving, they want to create such a situation that no one enters or invests in Uttar Pradesh," he said in Hindi.

Yadav further accused the BJP of retaliating for its losses in the Lok Sabha elections, stating, "The BJP is seeking revenge for how the informed citizens of Uttar Pradesh defeated them. Those with no future themselves are the ones who ruin the future of others." He added, "This is condemnable!" Yadav's remarks come amid a series of police encounters that have ignited political controversy in the state, with opposition leaders questioning the intentions and tactics of the BJP government.

Anuj Pratap Singh's Father Hits Out At Akhilesh Yadav

Expressing his anger and grief, Anuj Pratap Singh's father Dharm Raj Singh alleged political motives behind his son stating that Akhilesh Yadav's wish has been fulfilled, and a Thakur has been encountered. "My son has become a victim of politics. He only had one or two cases against him, yet he was encountered," he said.

The father also lashed out at the "selective action" of law enforcement. "There are people with 30 cases against them, yet they remain untouched, but someone with only one or two cases is being encountered. This government can do anything," he alleged.

Recently, Yadav alleged that these encounters were driven by the accused's "caste" and labeled the STF as the "Special Thakur Force" and the "Sar-e-aam Thoko Force." In response, the ruling BJP dismissed Yadav's remarks as a result of "frustration," while the police rejected his accusations.
