All Eyes On Kolkata Court For Justice As It Prepares To Deliver Verdict In RG Kar Rape Case After 5 Months

A special court in Kolkata will deliver the first verdict in the RG Kar rape and murder case on Saturday.

A court in Sealdah will deliver the verdict on Saturday.

A special court in Kolkata will deliver the first verdict in the RG Kar rape and murder case on Saturday. The judgment will delivered by Anirban Das, the additional district and sessions judge of the Sealdah court. 

The in-camera trial in the case began on November 12 within closed doors.  

A trainee doctor's body was found in the seminar hall of the state-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on August 9 leading to the arrest of a civic volunteer Sanjay Roy by Kolkata police the subsequent day. 

The case was handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation which named Roy as the "sole prime accused" in the case.
