PM Modi Cancels Two Programmes In Maha Kumbh Due To Massive Crowd

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Prayagraj on Wednesday to attend the Maha Kumbh Mela. However, two of his programs have been cancelled due to a massive crowd on the occasion of Achala Saptami.

Earlier, he was supposed to visit the Akshay Vat and the reclining Hanuman temple after taking a holy dip at Triveni Sangam. However, both of these programs have been canceled for now. The changes have been made to ensure that devotees do not face any inconvenience due to his arrival on the other side of the Sangam.

According to his schedule, PM Modi is set to take a holy dip at the Sangam at around 11 AM.

Maha Kumbh 2025 commenced on Paush Purnima on January 13 and will continue until Mahashivratri on February 26.  It is the world’s largest spiritual and cultural gathering, attracting devotees from across the globe.

"Prime Minister Modi will visit Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj on February 5. At around 11 am, he will take a holy dip at the Sangam and offer prayers to Maa Ganga," a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office said.

The statement also said that PM Modi has "consistently taken proactive steps to enhance infrastructure and facilities at pilgrimage sites to promote and preserve India’s spiritual and cultural heritage."

During his visit to Prayagraj earlier on December 13, 2024, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated 167 development projects worth Rs 5,500 crore, improving connectivity, amenities and services for the general public.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Modi urged voters of Delhi to cast their valuable votes in the assembly elections, which are underway in the national capital across 70 constituencies.

In a post on X, he greeted the first time young voters. "Do keep this in mind, Pahle matdaan, phir jalpaan (First vote, have meal later)," he said. He also urged voters to participate in the festival of democracy with enthusiasm.

PM Modi has spearheaded the BJP's campaign against the Aam Aadmi Party, which is in power in Delhi since 2015.
