Four People Going To Office Killed As Company Bus Catches Fire In Pune

A tempo traveller was ferrying some employees of the private firm to their office.

Four people going to their office in Pune's Hinjewadi area were killed after their company vehicle caught fire on Wednesday morning.

A tempo traveller was ferrying some employees of the private firm to their office. When the vehicle was near Dassault Systemes, a fire started close to the driver’s feet. The driver slowed down the vehicle after the fire spread to the front side, said Deputy Commissioner of Police Vishal Gaikwad of Hinjewadi. The casualties resulted because the emergency exit at the rear side of the minibus could not be opened, an official said.

"While some employees managed to come out, four of their colleagues could not evict themselves and died. The work to remove the bodies from the vehicle is underway," he added.

Hinjewadi Deputy Commissioner of Police Vishal Gaikwad said the bodies were removed from the vehicle and the injured were rushed to the hospital for medical care
