A receptionist was brutally kicked and slammed on the floor by a man after she asked him to wait to meet the doctor at a hospital in Maharashtra's Thane on Monday evening.

A receptionist was brutally thrashed and dragged on the floor by her hair by a patient after she asked him to wait for his turn to meet the doctor at a private hospital in Maharashtra's Thane.

A 25-year-old woman working as a receptionist at a private hospital in Maharashtra's Thane was allegedly assaulted by a man after she refused to allow him to jump the queue and meet the doctor without an appointment.

The incident took place on Monday evening in the Kalyan area of the city and was captured on CCTV. The man, a non-local, was among the dozen other patients who had come to the hospital. When he was asked to wait for sometime for his turn instead of just walking-in, he got angry and charged at the receptionist, brutally attacking her. 

The video of the incident, which has now gone viral, shows the accused, Gokul Jha, kicking the receptionist and dragging her by her hair across the floor of the paediatrics hospital. The other people at the clinic then intervene to stop him and rescue the woman. The woman, visibly in shock and unable to walk, then gets up with the support of two other people.

According to the FIR filed at the Manpada police station, the accused was angry as the receptionist didn't allow him and a woman accompanying him with a baby to jump the queue and meet the doctor who was busy with other patients at the time.

"Based on the victim's complaint, we have registered an FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita for assault, using obscene language, and outraging the modesty of a woman," a police official told news agency PTI.

However, no arrest has been made so far. The accused man fled the spot after the incident and the police are on the lookout for him.
