Bomb Threat At Multiple Noida Schools On Delhi Polls Day Sparks Panic

Following the threats, some schools resumed classes, while others sent students home. The police did not find anything suspicious during checking at the schools.

Four schools in Noida on Wednesday received bomb threats via spam emails, prompting authorities to rush in police and a bomb disposal squad. However, the police did not find any suspicious items during the search and the emails turned to be hoax. Thereafter, some schools resumed classes, while some sent students home.

Some of the schools that received the bomb threat were Step by Step School, The Heritage School, Gyanshree School, and Mayur School.

After hearing about the threats, parents rushed to the schools and tried to take their children back but were assured by the police that the situation was normal.

Noida, additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP), Sumit Shukla told news agency PTI that the threats were sent via email at 8:30 AM.

"On Wednesday morning we received information on the emergency helpline number that four schools—Step by Step, The Heritage, Gyanshree, and Mayoor School—received bomb threat mails," he said.

"On getting information, a team of police comprising firefighters, bomb detection team, and dog squad checked the premises and found the mail to be a hoax. No suspicious item was found in any school and all places were normal," Shukla said.

2 Indore Schools Get Bomb Threat

Two private schools in Madhya Pradesh's Indore on Tueaday were evacuated after they received bomb threats through emails. Later they turned out to be hoax, police said.

"Separate emails were received by the city's New Digamber Public School, located on Khandwa Road, and Indore Public School in Rau area on Tuesday morning, threatening to blow up these educational institutions with RDX and a human bomb," Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Vinod Kumar Meena told PTI

The police and school authorities said that an examination of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) being conducted in one of these schools was affected due to the bomb threats and the resulting search operations. A practical exam in another school was also postponed.
