Two men arrested in Noida Sector 53 for allegedly attempting to run over a man with a Mahindra Thar after an Instagram dispute.

In a disturbing case of road rage in Noida’s Sector 53, two men have been arrested for allegedly trying to run over a man with a Mahindra Thar following an Instagram dispute. The incident, which occurred on June 2 and was caught on camera, has sparked concerns about rising street violence.
According to police, the case was registered based on a written complaint by the victim, Saurabh Yadav. The FIR (No. 243/2025) was filed under Sections 109, 110, 351(2), and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Sector-24 Police Station. Four individuals are named in the FIR — Aman Awana, Akash Awana, Gaurav Chauhan, and Kunal Chauhan. After a viral video surfaced, Section 109 BNS was added to the charges.
Investigations revealed that the conflict began over a comment made on Instagram. The accused reportedly called the victims, Saurabh and another man named Sumit, to their office area for a discussion. However, the argument escalated into a physical fight, culminating in the accused attempting to run over the victims with a Mahindra Thar.
Police have seized the Thar involved in the incident. Aman Awana (29) and Akash Awana (25), both residents of Sector 23, Noida, have been arrested. The other two accused, Gaurav Chauhan and Kunal Chauhan, remain at large, and police are actively searching for them.
The conflict started with a heated exchange of comments on Instagram between acquaintances, police said. The disagreement soon escalated into a violent confrontation on the streets of Sector 53.
"There was a dispute between the two parties under the police station Sector-24 area regarding comments on the social media platform. Both sides are familiar with each other," confirmed Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Sumit Kumar Shukla.
The verbal argument soon escalated into a violent incident. According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the Thar suddenly sped up and slammed the vehicle into the victim, causing him to be thrown into a roadside drain.
The driver fled the scene immediately, leaving the victim injured and unconscious. The police quickly registered a case under charges of reckless driving, causing bodily harm, and criminal intimidation.
