The fire broke out at Skypan Apartments, off Link Road, opposite Laxmi Industrial Estate in Mumbai's Andheri West.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said the fire could spread through the electrical wiring and installations, and household articles inside the flat of the building. A total of 5 fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the fire.
The building has a total of 12 stories.
1 Killed In Noida Fire
A severe fire that erupted in a house in the Chhajarsi village of Noida in Uttar Pradesh claimed one life. The fire was sparked at at 3:30 AM by a short circuit at a clothing store. A couple was trapped in the fire. The man was somehow rescued but his wife died after inhaling excessive smoke. Her husband sustained severe burn injuries.
