MP Cong Chief Jitu Patwari's Car Hit By Truck On Indore-Bhopal Highway, Party Slams State Govt Over Security

Congress MP Chief Jitu Patwari's car was hit by a truck from behind on the Indore-Bhopal Highway on January 30. He managed to escape unhurt and his team is also safe.

Madhya Pradesh Congress Chief Jitendra (Jitu) Patwari on Thursday met with an accident after a truck rammed into the back of his car on the Indore-Bhopal Highway. The accident occurred on the Fanda toll plaza when the leader was on his way to Bhopal. Fortunately, Patwari, his team, and the truck driver are all safe and did not sustain any injuries.

The Congress, however, said that it had been urging the MP government to ensure proper security arrangements for its MP Chief, which the party claimed was being "neglected".

In a post on X (twitter), Madhya Pradesh Congress' official handle wrote, "A truck collided with the vehicle of Congress State President Shri @jitupatwari near Phanda Toll on the Indore-Bhopal Highway! The State President and his staff are safe."

"The Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee has previously urged the @BJP4MP government regarding the security of the PCC Chief. We are once again drawing the government's attention to this matter!," the party wrote requesting the state government for Patwari's security.

Patwari Says He Is Safe

Following the accident, Jitu Patwari took to X to share an update about his condition, and said that there were no casualties and nobody was injured.

"While traveling from Indore to Bhopal today, a truck hit my car from behind near Sehore, resulting in an accident. By God's grace, my entire staff, the truck driver, and I are safe, and there has been no loss of life," Patwari said in a post on X.

"Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers! May your love and blessings always remain," he added.

Congress' Kunal Choudhary Slams MP Govt For 'Neglecting' Security

Meanwhile, Congress leader Kunal Choudhary shared visuals from the accident site and pointed out that the Mohan Yadav-led MP government had been "continuously neglecting" Patwari's security.

"The Mohan government is continuously neglecting Shri Patwari Ji’s security! Compromising his safety is unacceptable. The government must immediately provide proper security arrangements and necessary resources!," his post said.

The details as to how the accident took place are yet to be revealed by the police.
