Mohammed Shami's Sister, Brother-In-Law Getting Wages Under MGNREGA In UP
Shami's sister Shabina has been receiving money consistently from 2021 to 2024.

Cricketer Mohammed Shami's sister and her husband are getting wages under the MGNREGA social welfare scheme that aims to guarantee the 'right to work' in Uttar Pradesh's Amroha.
Documents accessed by ABP News show Shabina registered as a worker of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme. She has been receiving money consistently from 2021 to 2024.
After the recent Champions Trophy Win, Shami's mother and her sister joined the Indian cricket team on the ground. In a heartfelt moment, Virat Kohli approached Shami's mother and showed his respects by touching her feet. Kohli also posed for pictures with Shami and his family.
Shami was out of action for over a year due to an ankle injury sustained after the India vs Australia 2023 World Cup final. He made his international comeback in the India vs England T20I series in January this year.
He also shone with the ball for India in their triumphant ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign in Dubai. The right-arm pacer grabbed nine wickets in five matches at an impressive average of 25.89.
