Man On Vaishali Express Dies Of Cold As Intense Cold Wave Lashes Uttar Pradesh
A 65-year-old man, Varishth Singh, died on the Vaishali Express purportedly due to extreme cold, despite being in an air-conditioned coach. He was travelling from Siwan to Delhi.
A passenger on Vaishali Express died purportedly due to the intense cold on Monday. The deceased was identified as 65-year-old Varishth Singh. He was travelling from Siwan in Bihar to Delhi with his son Deepak by Vaishali Express.
The cold wave and dense fog continue to wreak havoc in the district amid icy winds. Varishth Singh was travelling with his son Deepak in the B3 air-conditioned coach of Vaishali Express.
As Varishth Singh's health deteriorated on the way, his family informed the railway control room. By the time the train reached the Barabanki station, he was already critical. Railway staffers rushed him to the district hospital. Doctors at the hospital declared 65-year-old Varishth Singh dead.
Police have taken the body in custody and sent it for post-mortem. The incident occurred under the police jurisdiction of the Kotwali Nagar area.
