Fire Breaks Out In Restaurant At Maha Kumbh Mela Area, Second Instance In A Day
A fire broke out in a restaurant at Maha Kumbh Mela, destroying goods worth lakhs and gutting the establishment.

A fire broke in a restaurat in the Maha Kumbh Mela area in Prayagraj on Sunday. Fire tenders were pressed to service and the flames were doused.
The fire gutted the Baba Tea Stall, located at Maharaj Bhog Prasadm with goods worth lakhs burnt to ashes. There was no loss of lives in the incident as all the customers and staff members present inside the restaurant were safely evacuated.
This is the second instance of fire in a single day at Maha Kumbh Mela after a fire broke out in a ‘kalpvasi’ tent in Sector 19. The blaze started due to a leak in a gas cylinder, according to offiicals.
Firefighters reached the spot and extinguished the blaze within 10 minutes and no casualties were reported.
The fire was reported in a tent set up by Om Prakash Pandey Seva Sansthan and belonged to Rajendra Jaiswal, a resident of Karma, Prayagraj, Chief Fire Officer (Kumbh) Pramod Sharma told PTI.

Three fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the scene upon receiving the alert. While the fire was contained within 10 minutes, the tent was completely gutted, the Fire officer said.
The Maha Kumbh Mela has witnessed three major fire incidents besides multiple minor incidents.
On February 7, a fire broke out in the ISKCON camp in Sector 18 and spread over to a dozen nearby camps. While no one was injured in the incident, around 20 tents were destroyed.
On January 19, a massive fire broke out in Sector 19 due to a cylinder blast. The blaze did not claim any lives but gutted over a dozen camps. Last month, two cars caught fire in Sector 2 of the Mela area. The fire was caused by a short circuit in one car which then spread to the other vehicle parked next to it. No casualties were reported in the incident.
