Doctor, 2 Nurses Suspended After Video Shows Pregnant Woman Made To Clean Hospital Bed After Husband’s Death

The Chief Medical and Health Officer of Dindori issued orders to transfer the attending doctor and suspend the two nurses on Saturday.

A doctor and two nurses faced action after a pregnant woman was reportedly forced to clean her husband’s blood-stained bed at a community health center in the Dindori district of Madhya Pradesh.

According to a report by Indian Express, the 40-year-old Shivraj Marawi and members of his family were allegedly attacked by a group of 25 people – including relatives – after a land dispute in Lalpur Sani village on Thursday evening.

According to the police, the attack was allegedly the result of a dispute over the harvesting of crops on a piece of land in Lalpur village, around 50 kilometres from the district headquarters.

Shivraj died while on his way to the Gardasari health centre for treatment. A video that surfaced Friday reportedly showed Shivraj’s wife Roshni, who is five months pregnant, being made to clean the bloodied bed at the primary health centre immediately after the death of her husband.

In response, the Chief Medical and Health Officer of Dindori issued orders to transfer the attending doctor and suspend the two nurses on Saturday.
