Kota Students Rushed To Hospital After Falling Ill Due To Ammonia Leakage From Chemical Factory
Ammonia gas leakage from a factory in Kota, Rajasthan, caused several students to fall ill. They received primary treatment at the New Medical College Hospital and were referred to JK Lone Hospital.
Several students fell ill due to the leakage of ammonia gas from the CFCL factory in the Simliya PS area of Rajasthan's Kota on Saturday. The leakage has affected students from the government school in Gadhepan village. The children were immediately hospitalised, with six of them in critical condition, according to Navbharat Times.
Reacting to the incident, Ashutosh Sharma, Superintendent of New Medical College Hospital, told news agency ANI, " The students who were referred here were in a stable condition...we have them primary treatment them and referred to JK Lone Hospital. Nobody was in serious condition"

Navbharat Times confirmed that a total of 12 students were impacted by the gas leak. Five of them were initially referred to Kota Medical College but, due to their worsening condition, they were later shifted to JK Lon Hospital in Kota.
Villagers reported that the gas leak occurred around 11 AM at Chambal Fertilizer and Chemicals Limited (CFCL) factory. Students at the high secondary school started experiencing difficulty breathing. Within moments, some of them lost consciousness, causing panic in the school. Chaos ensued, and authorities were immediately informed. CFCL is a factory that produces urea fertilizer. According to the latest updates, affected students were first treated at the hospital operating within the factory premises.
School Declared Closed
It was also revealed that some female students had gone to fetch water within the school premises when they started experiencing suffocation and discomfort. Their condition deteriorated, and they informed the school staff about their breathing issues. Upon receiving the news, Kota District Collector Ravindra Goswami rushed to the scene and gathered information from the factory and subdivision administration.
School staff member Hemant Kumar confirmed that the gas leak affected the health of several children. Seven students were transported to the hospital in a school teacher’s vehicle, followed by five more. School Principal Ranjana Sharma informed the media that the gas leak occurred while the morning prayers were underway, leading to health complications among students.
Factory officials were contacted, and a representative was sent to regulate the gas release. As a precautionary measure, the school was dismissed for the day after ensuring medical assistance for the affected children.
