Two Die, 14 Injured As Vehicle Plunges Into Gorge In J&K’s Kishtwar
Soon after the accident, a rescue operation was launched. Till now, two bodies have been retrieved while the others were rushed to a hospital.
Two people died and 14 were injured after a vehicle carrying workers of a private company skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, officials said.
As per the report by news agency PTI, officials confirmed that the accident took place near Dangduru while the workers of an under-construction power project were returning in a mini-bus from the dam site.
Soon after the accident, a rescue operation was launched. Till now, two bodies have been retrieved while the others were rushed to a hospital.
Expressing grief over the accident, Minister Jitendra Singh assured all required help to the affected people. “Just now spoke to DC (Deputy Commissioner) Kishtwar Rajesh Kumar Shavan after receiving the news of an unfortunate accident of cruiser in Dandaru area. Two casualties reported. More updates awaited. Meanwhile, rescue operation has started. My office is in constant touch. All required help will be provided,” the minister wrote on X.

Three Dead After Car Plunges Into Chenab River In J&K's Doda
Three people have lost their lives after their vehicle plunged into the Chenab River in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday morning (November 30), an official confirmed. The incident took place near Prem Nagar, Jammu, with the body of a 70-year-old woman, identified as Poori Devi, recovered so far.
According to Jammu and Kashmir’s Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) of Traffic, Mukhtiyar Dev Singh, the accident took place at around 8:30 am, at Kandote, between Prem Nagar and Thathri. The victims, two elderly persons, and a 25-year-old youth were en route to Doda when the vehicle reportedly collided while coming from the wrong direction on a 40-foot-wide highway.
The victims have been identified as Ranjeet Kumar (25) and his relatives Beli Ram and Puran Devi who were travelling from Charya village to Jammu when the car plunged into the river, as per news agency PTI.
