Bengaluru Techie Found Dead Days After Fight With Estranged Wife, Father Says Marital Stress May Be The Cause

Saidulu Adavath, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North Bengaluru), said there have been no allegations of abuse against the wife, and the couple had been living separately for over a year.

A 40-year-old marketing professional was found dead at his residence in Bengaluru on Monday. Initial investigation suggests he died by suicide last week due to an ongoing marital dispute. However, no suicide note has been discovered yet.

According to a report by NDTV, the deceased, identified as Prashanth Nair, held a senior role at a technology company and was the father of an eight-year-old daughter. His wife of 12 years, Pooja Nair, is employed at a separate multinational corporation.

Saidulu Adavath, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North Bengaluru), said there have been no allegations of abuse against the wife, and the couple had been living separately for over a year.

His father later told the police that his son had been living apart from his wife for more than a year and that the two had a disagreement earlier that day.

Prashanth reportedly received multiple calls from his family on the day of the incident but did not respond. Concerned, his father went to his apartment and discovered him hanging from a ceiling fan.

In response, Soladevanahalli Police Station registered a case against the incident and began the investigation in order to unmask the order of the events and verify the claims of harassment.

Meanwhile, police sources indicated that the couple often argued and were said to be contemplating a divorce. However, their family had encouraged them to remain together and try to resolve their issues, as per the India Today report.
