Is February 12 A Dry Day In Delhi? Check List Of Dry Days In February And March

Delhi L-G VK Saxena issued an official circular that the restricted holiday for Guru Ravidas Jayanti, which was initially scheduled for November 2024, has now been upgraded to a full public holiday.

Delhi Dry Day Today: The sale of alcohol is prohibited on certain days, including national holidays and religious festivals. While public sale is prohibited, private consumption is generally allowed. Some Indian states, like Gujarat, Bihar, Nagaland, Mizoram, and Lakshadweep, have more stringent restrictions, where both the sale and consumption of alcohol are entirely banned throughout the year.

Liquor shops will be closed in the national capital on February 12 (Wednesday) on the occasion of Guru Ravidas Jayanti.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena issued an official circular that the restricted holiday for Guru Ravidas Jayanti, which was initially scheduled for November 2024, has now been upgraded to a full public holiday. A similar notification was issued by the Uttar Pradesh government.

Guru Ravidas Jayanti marks the birth anniversary of Guru Ravidas, a 15th-century saint and poet associated with the Bhakti movement. The birth anniversary of the revered saint is celebrated on February 12. 

Multiple states declared a school holiday on February 12 on the occasion of Ravidas Jayanti. The states that have announced the holiday are Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh. All government offices, schools, autonomous bodies, and public sector undertakings in these states will remain closed.

Earlier, Delhi had dry days between February 4 and 8 due to assembly elections. The list of dry days in the national capital in February and March are:
