Two men were arrested in Indore, Madhya Pradesh after they returned from Maha Kumbh for stealing in Dwarkapuri.

Two men from Indore were arrested for alleged theft to fund their Maha Kumbh Mela trip with their girlfriends. As the police were facing difficulty tracking them in Prayagraj, police arrested them after they returned.

According to an India Today report, police recovered Rs 4 lakh in cash, gold jewellery and other stolen items from their possession. The men have been identified as Ajay Shukla and Santosh Kori, both of whom have a history of criminal activities, with 15 cases of theft registered against them in Indore.

In Indore’s Dwarkapuri, there was a rising number of robbery incidents in the course of 15 days. After the confirmation, the police were tracking the two through their mobile phones which is when they realised that Shukla and Kori were at the Maha Kumbh, along with their girlfriends. A police team reached Prayagraj but was unable to track the two down because they were moving around a lot and it was two crowded in the Uttar Pradesh city.
