Indore Police Arrest Thieves Who Spent Loot On Maha Kumbh With Girlfriends
Two men were arrested in Indore, Madhya Pradesh after they returned from Maha Kumbh for stealing in Dwarkapuri.

Two men from Indore were arrested for alleged theft to fund their Maha Kumbh Mela trip with their girlfriends. As the police were facing difficulty tracking them in Prayagraj, police arrested them after they returned.
According to an India Today report, police recovered Rs 4 lakh in cash, gold jewellery and other stolen items from their possession. The men have been identified as Ajay Shukla and Santosh Kori, both of whom have a history of criminal activities, with 15 cases of theft registered against them in Indore.
In Indore’s Dwarkapuri, there was a rising number of robbery incidents in the course of 15 days. Following complaints about thefts at four houses in the area, the police launched an investigation to track down the accused, according to the report. Police were able to match the fingerprints to the two accused.
After the confirmation, the police were tracking the two through their mobile phones which is when they realised that Shukla and Kori were at the Maha Kumbh, along with their girlfriends. A police team reached Prayagraj but was unable to track the two down because they were moving around a lot and it was two crowded in the Uttar Pradesh city.

However, they did not get away as after they returned to Indore, Kori and Shukla were finally arrested.
As per the India Today report, DCP Rishikesh Meena said that there are over 15 cases against Kori and Shukla. When they were interrogated, they confessed to the thefts in Dwarkapuri because they needed money to fund a lavish lifestyle. The two said that they spent most of the stolen money on their girlfriends, including funding the Maha Kumbh trip. He added that items worth more than Rs 7 lakh had been looted from the four houses in Dwarkapuri.
