Indore: Govt School Teacher Transferred For 'Strip-Searching' 5 Girl Students To Find Mobile Phone

A teacher in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, has been transferred after allegations of strip-searching girl students to find a mobile phone. The incident happened on Friday and is being investigated.

A teacher from a government-run school in the Indore district of Madhya Pradesh has been removed and reassigned to the district education office on Saturday after allegations of strip-searching girl students to find a mobile phone. The incident, which took place on Friday, prompted an administrative investigation, leading to the teacher's transfer.

As per news agency PTI, officials stated that a teacher at Government Sharda Girls Higher Secondary School in the Bada Ganpati area took 5 students to a toilet and asked them to strip after a mobile phone rang in class. They also said that parents of students filed a complaint at Malharganj police station, alleging that the girls were also beaten during the search.

Police Complaint Filed Against Indore Teacher For 'Strip-Searching' Girl Students

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Alok Kumar Sharma said that the police complaint against the teacher is also under investigation. A female police officer will record the students' statements. 

"It has been reported that five students were strip-searched at Government Sharda Girls Higher Secondary School. Parents of the students have lodged a complaint against the teacher - Jaya Panwar - at Malharganj police station. Investigation is underway, and a woman police personnel will record the students' statements," he said, PTI reported.

Collector Ashish Singh confirmed that the teacher accused of indecent behaviour during the search has been eliminated from the school and reassigned to the district education office. He reported that the issue is being probed, and required action will be taken after the investigation.
