Indore Man Lands In Trouble After He Was Recorded On Video Giving Alms To Beggar. Here's Why

Indore Beggar Ban: Indore has recently issued an order to make the city beggar-free. The order directs action against not only beggars but also those who give them alms.

Indore News: A case has been registered against a person who gave alms in the Lasudia Mori police station area of Indore. This is the second case registered against those giving alms in the city. The first FIR was registered for the same reason against a man in the Bhanwarkuan police station area.

Last year, Indore Collector Ashish Singh had recently issued an order to make the city "beggar-free". Under this order, strict action was directed against not only beggars but also those giving alms. Beggars in the city were taken to their villages and some were also being trained so that they could get jobs.

In the latest FIR, a car driver was booked in the Lasudia police station area. He allegedly gave Rs 10 as alms to a beggar near a temple. The man was caught on video giving the alms. This prompted the police to take action against the car driver.

Additional DCP Amrendra Singh said that strict action will be taken against those giving alms due to the Collector's order. He said people will be made aware of the order to stop such activities.

Beggars Getting Employment In Indore

Under the campaign to make Indore beggar-free, many beggars have been taken to their villages so far and the process of linking some to employment has also been started. Police say that action will continue against those giving alms so that the city can be made completely beggar-free.
