Delhi-Leh IndiGo Flight Makes Emergency Landing After Technical Snag

An IndiGo flight 6E 2006 from Delhi to Leh, carrying 180 people, made an emergency landing back in Delhi due to technical issues. This follows a bomb threat on another IndiGo flight from Kochi to Delhi.

An IndiGo flight (6E 2006), which was going from Delhi to Leh, made an emergency landing due to technical reasons. The aircraft turned back and landed safely in Delhi shortly after approaching Leh, reported news agency IANS. Around 180 people, including crew members, were on board. The aircraft was an Airbus A320-251N. The aircraft returned from Chakula.

The incident comes a day after a bomb threat was received on an IndiGo flight.

Bomb Threat On IndiGo

An IndiGo flight from Kochi to Delhi was forced to make an emergency landing in Nagpur on Tuesday, June 17, after a bomb threat was reported onboard. The threat was received via email on the airline's official ID shortly after the flight departed from Kochi at 9:31 AM. The aircraft had originally arrived in Kochi from Muscat and was en route to Delhi with 157 passengers and six crew members on board.

Following the threat, Kochi International Airport Limited (CIAL) convened a meeting of the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) to evaluate the situation. Authorities were immediately alerted, and the flight was diverted to Nagpur as a precautionary measure.

CIAL confirmed that a thorough inspection of the aircraft is underway at Nagpur airport. The flight will be allowed to continue to Delhi only after all mandatory security checks are completed.

This incident comes just a day after a similar bomb threat was made against Lufthansa flight LH752 from Frankfurt to Hyderabad. That flight was forced to turn back to Germany mid-route, prompting a BTAC meeting under standard operating procedures.

The back-to-back threats have raised concerns over aviation security, prompting heightened vigilance across airports.
