7 Killed, Several Injured After Van-Truck Collision In Hathras, CM Yogi Announces Rs 2 Lakh Ex-Gratia

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced immediate financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each to the seriously injured.

Seven people have died after a pickup van collided with a courier container in the Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. including 3 women, 3 men, and a child died. Victims who died, include three women, three men, and a child, according to a report by news agency ANI.

Reacting to the incident, Hathras DM Ashish Kumar said, "A family was going to Etah in a pickup when they met the accident. 7 people have lost their lives. 6 others have been referred and 7 are admitted to the district hospital. Further investigation is underway."

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced immediate financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each to the seriously injured.

In a post on X, "The loss of life in a road accident on the Mathura-Kaiserganj highway in Hathras district is extremely sad and heart-wrenching. My condolences are with the bereaved family. District administration officials have been instructed to carry out relief operations expeditiously and immediately take the injured to the hospital for proper treatment. I pray to Lord Shri Ram to give a place to the departed souls in his feet and provide speedy recovery to the injured."

7 Killed In Gujarat

In a similar incident, seven people, including four college students, lost their lives on Monday when a car crossed a road divider and collided with another vehicle in the Junagadh district of Gujarat. The accident took place near Bhanduri village on the Junagadh-Veraval highway.

According to a report by TOI, police confirmed that the driver of a five-seater sedan carrying four passengers lost control at high speed, causing the vehicle to jump the divider and crash into an oncoming hatchback.

The deceased from the sedan were identified as driver Vaju Rathod (60), a resident of Bilkha Road in Junagadh; Nakul Kuwadiya (25) from Manekwada village in Keshod taluka; Dharam Dharadev (20) from Talav Darwaja in Junagadh; and two 19-year-olds, Akshat Dave and Om Mungra, both from Rajkot. They were travelling from Junagadh to Gadu.
