Greater Noida's Eco Village-2 Residents Open Cow Shelter To Protest Stray Dog Menace

Residents of Greater Noida’s Supertech Ecovillage-2 open a cow shelter in protest after repeated dog bite incidents and inaction by maintenance over the stray dog menace in the society.

Stray Dog Issue In Noida: Frustrated by the growing threat posed by stray dogs and the nonchalance of dog feeders, residents of Supertech Ecovillage-2 in Greater Noida West have taken an unusual step to protest. They have opened a cow shelter within the society premises. According to the residents, the maintenance team has failed to address the issue, forcing them to take matters into their own hands, reported Dainik Jagaran.

Stray dogs continue to roam freely throughout the society and multiple residents have already suffered injuries from dog bites. Despite repeated complaints, no effective action has been taken by the maintenance staff, they alleged.

Cow Shelter Set Up Inside Society Premises

Resident Rajkumar told the media house that if stray dogs were allowed to stay inside the society, there was no reason cows should be left to wander the streets. The newly opened shelter will now provide food and care for the stray cows that used to roam outside the society.

A feeding trough has been installed in front of the C4 tower, complete with green fodder and other essentials. Rajkumar emphasised that this initiative sends a strong message to both the maintenance team and animal lovers.

Plans Underway To Feed Monkeys As Well

He further shared that the society also plans to provide food for monkeys, including bananas and other items. Until authorities take effective steps to remove stray dogs from the premises, residents will continue inviting and feeding stray cattle inside the society as a form of symbolic protest.

On Friday, residents again brought stray cows into the society and fed them, a move they say highlights the ongoing neglect. As long as stray dogs are allowed to stay, so will the cows, now under shelter and care.
