Dreaded Gangster Joginder Gyong, Convicted In 15 Cases Arrested, Deported From Philippines

Delhi Police and Haryana Police arrested gangster Joginder Gyong in a joint operation. Gyong was deported from the Philippines and convicted in 15 cases.

Delhi Police's Special Cell and Haryana Police have arrested gangster Joginder Gyong in a joint operation, officials said.

According to the information, Joginder was deported from Philippines on February 2 and has been convicted in 15 cases. He was detained by Philippines authorities in July 2024.

As per the details, Joginder was an active associate of Kaushal Chaudhary. His brother, Surinder Gyong, was also a close associate of Kaushal Chaudhary and died in 2017 in an exchange of fire with police.

Additional CP Special Cell Pramod Kumar Kushwaha said as quoted by news agency ANI, "There was a joint operation of Delhi Police and Haryana STF. Joginder Gyong, who was deported from Phillippines and brought here yesterday, his arrest was recorded. Joginder Gyong was an active associate of Kaushal Chaudhary. His brother, Surinder Gyong was a close associate of Kaushal Chaudhary. Surinder Gyong died in 2017 in an exchange of fire with Police."

He further added, "After that, Joginder Gyong had left for Phillippines through Nepal. He was trying to revive the network of Kaushal Chaudhary. Chaudhary is in jail. This was an important cause of concern for us because Kaushal Chaudhary's active association was found in 3 cases in Punjab which had footprints of terror networks - be it the murder of Gurlal Brar or Vicky Middukhera or Sandeep Nangal Ambian. Arsh Dalla, Lucky Patial had a role in these murders. Kaushal Chaudhary provided logistics to the shooters. Since Kaushal Chaudhary was actively associated with this, and he (Joginder Gyong) was a special member of Chaudhary's, he was our focus...He was tracked, active intelligence was shared with Haryana Police and after that he was located in Phillippines and deported from there following a judicial process...His Police custody remand will be taken by the concerned Police and things will come out..."

According to India TV, Joginder was convicted to life imprisonment in a case (FIR number 160 dated March 17, 2006, under sections 307, 302, 34, 120-B IPC, 25-54-59 Arms Act) registered with PS City Kaithal, Haryana and was serving his life sentence.

While on parole, he murdered Jagdev Sharma in Panipat on December 30, 2017 and later fled abroad. In the murder of Jagdev Sharma, a case was registered with PS City Panipat, District Panipat, Haryana.
