The action was taken after the BJP legislators staged protests and raised slogans in the House while a discussion was underway on expunging certain earlier remarks from the assembly records. Their disruptive conduct led the Speaker to take strict disciplinary measures.
According to news agency ANI's tweet on X, "West Bengal BJP MLAs Dipak Burman, Shankar Ghosh, Agnimitra Paul and Manoj Oraon suspended from the House by Speaker Biman Banerjee for this session. During an ongoing discussion in the House on expunging a few remarks made earlier, the MLAs had protested and raised slogans."

Following their suspension, BJP legislators staged a sit-in protest outside the state assembly building, voicing strong opposition to the decision.
BJP MLA Agnimitra Paul's Demand For Men's Commission
Earlier during the session, BJP MLA Agnimitra Paul raised the demand for the formation of a State Men’s Commission, similar to the State Women’s Commission. She argued that men, too, face violence and harassment and therefore deserve a dedicated commission to address their grievances.
