Republic Day 2025: Delhi Metro Timings Revised For Jan 26. Know Traffic Arrangements At JLN Stadium

Republic Day 2025: Delhi Metro will start services early on Jan 26 while the Park and Ride facility at JLN Stadium will provide shuttle buses to Kartavya Path.

To assist commuters in reaching Kartavya Path on Republic Day, Delhi Metro will commence its services at 3 AM on all lines, as per an official statement. Trains will operate at 30-minute intervals until 6 AM, following which the regular timetable will resume.  

"As the nation celebrates the pride and spirit of Republic Day, Delhi Metro will commence its services at 3 AM on all lines on Sunday to help people reach Kartavya Path and witness the Republic Day ceremony," the statement read.  

Passengers have been advised to plan their travel accordingly and utilise the early metro services to avoid any last-minute inconvenience.  

Republic Day 2025: Traffic Arrangements At JLN Stadium

Ahead of Republic Day celebrations, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory detailing arrangements for the Park and Ride facility at Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium on January 26, 2025. The facility has been set up to facilitate designated visitors travelling to Kartavya Path for the event.  

According to the advisory, visitors using the Park and Ride facility must enter through Gate No. 1 of JLN Stadium and park their vehicles near Gate No. 14. Shuttle buses will be available from Gate No. 14 to transport them to the venue. Visitors will also exit through Gate No. 14.

Motorists and the general public have been urged to remain patient, follow traffic rules, and adhere to instructions from traffic personnel deployed at key intersections.  

Republic Day 2025: Multi-Layered Security Arrangements In Delhi  

Over 70 companies of paramilitary forces and more than 15,000 police personnel will be deployed across Delhi to ensure security during the Republic Day celebrations, a senior police officer said on Friday.  

"Delhi will be monitored using drones and CCTV surveillance, with cyber-specialist officers overseeing operations. We have already installed multi-layered security arrangements, including six layers of checking and frisking, along with extensive barricading," the officer stated, as per news agency PTI.  

Thousands of CCTV cameras, including those with Facial Recognition Systems (FRS), have been installed across the New Delhi district. Additionally, moving vehicles equipped with FRS technology will be deployed to identify potential threats in real time.  

The officer emphasised that Delhi Police is fully prepared to tackle any situation. "Police teams are conducting mock drills in coordination with multiple security agencies," he said.  

With heightened security and extensive traffic arrangements, authorities have urged citizens to follow advisories and cooperate with officials for smooth Republic Day celebrations.
