TANGEDCO has advised residents in the affected zones to plan accordingly and complete essential electrical tasks beforehand. Power supply is expected to resume as per the schedule unless unforeseen technical issues arise.

Why Are Power Cuts Scheduled?

Amid periodic power shutdowns announced in various parts of the state for maintenance work, officials from the electricity board have highlighted the long-term benefits these planned outages bring to consumers and the power infrastructure.

Though residents often find such interruptions inconvenient, authorities stress that these shutdowns are necessary to ensure the reliability, safety and efficiency of the power grid. Maintenance activities typically involve replacing worn-out components, trimming vegetation near overhead lines, testing transformers and upgrading outdated infrastructure.

By addressing potential vulnerabilities in a controlled manner, electricity boards aim to deliver a more stable and uninterrupted power supply in the future, ensuring that short-term inconveniences lead to long-term stability.
