Bystander's Desperate Attempt To Revive RCB Parade Stampede Victim In Bengaluru: Video

At least 10 people were killed and several were injured after a stampede broke out outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, where fans had gathered to catch a glimpse of the RCB team.

A bystander's desperate attempt to save a man who had collapsed in the stampede outside Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru was captured on camera. The video shows him trying to revive a fan by performing CPR on him after he collapsed to the ground in the stampede-like situation. Thousands of fans had gathered to catch a glimpse of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru team at the stadium, where a felicitation ceremony had been organised after their maiden IPL victory.

In the video, a group of people can be seen surrounding the man, trying to help him, as he lay unconscious on the ground. One of them can be seen performing the CPR to help him regain consciousness.

A stampede-like situation erupted outside the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday as fans thronged the venue to attend a ceremony celebrating Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s IPL 2025 victory.

Initially there were reports of seven casualties in the tragic incident, but later the death toll rose to ten. Several other fans are also said to have sustained injuries in the stampede, caused due to overcrowding.

The event was organised by the Karnataka State Cricket Association to felicitate RCB’s maiden Indian Premier League title after an 18-year wait. It was meant for people with valid tickets and passes, but fans thronged the premises anyway.

Visuals from the venue showed fans climbing trees, buses, and cars to catch a glimpse of the team, which led to the stampede-like situation. Some visuals also showed police shifting injured and unconscious people to a nearby hospital.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar issued an apology after the incident, saying the crowd was "uncontrollable". "I apologise for the overcrowding," Shivakumar said, adding "We arranged more than 5,000 personnel. This is a young vibrant crowd, we can't use lathi on them."
