RCB Felicitation Continues Despite Stampede Casualties Near Bengaluru's Chinnaswamy Stadium

A special felicitation ceremony for all RCB players was organised by the Karnataka State Cricket Association at the Chinnaswamy Stadium today, after the team won the IPL after 18 years.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru felicitation ceremony continued despite the casualties near Bengaluru's Chinnaswamy stadium, caused due to overcrowding. BJP Karnataka has claimed that there have been around seven casualties so far as the stampede-like situation continues.

Fans were seen climbing trees and buses as massive crowds gathered outside the Stadium to catch a glimpse of IPL 2025 champions.

A special felicitation ceremony for all RCB players was organised by the Karnataka State Cricket Association at the Chinnaswamy Stadium today, where a large number of RCB fans turned up to catch a glimpse of the team, which won their maiden IPL title, ending an 18-year wait for the coveted trophy.

In a short event, the RCB team was felicitated by the Karnataka government with traditional Mysuru peta (opulent formal turban), shawl and garland.

Karnataka Governor Taawarchand Gehlot, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar felicitated the Rajat Patidar-led team in front of the iconic Vidhana Soudha, which is the seat of state legislature and secretariat in Bengaluru.

BJP Slams Karnataka Govt For 'Criminal Negligence'

Following the casualties, BJP Karnataka slammed the state government over its "criminal negligence," alleging that "no crowd control measures and basic arrangements" were made.

"While innocent people died, @siddaramaiah & @DKShivakumar were busy shooting reels & hogging limelight with cricketers. Shame on this photo-op Congress government. This is criminal negligence. Blood is on the hands of Congress govt," it said, in a post on X, sharing visuals from the overcrowded venue.
