Bihar: Teen From Madhubani Shot Dead While Filming Reels With Gun

A 13-year-old boy in Bihar's Madhubani died after being shot while making a reel with a gun. His friends, who were with him at the time of the incident are absconding.

Bihar News: A 13-year-old boy from Bihar's Madhubani died on Monday, September 23, after being shot, purportedly while making reels. The incident occurred around 3 PM in Umgaon, under the jurisdiction of Harlakhi police station. The deceased was identified as Indal Kumar, son of Sahadeva Gupta alias Bauka. Indal was making a reel with two friends, with a gun. During this, the gun went off, killing him.

Meanwhile, both of Indal's friends have been absconding since the incident. Their parents have been taken into custody by the police.

While making the reel, the bullet hit Indal in the stomach, rendering him unconscious. Scared, his friends fled the scene. Indal's parents rushed to the spot after being alerted by the sound of the gunshot. The neighbours, too, gathered at the spot. The child was immediately admitted to the local Public Health Centre. From there, he was referred to Madhubani, but he died on the way.

Indal's mother says that her son left home after having his meal, saying that he was going for a puja. However, he was shot dead on the terrace of a neighbour's house. After that, the accused fled, his mother alleged. The family is in a state of shock after this incident. The family members are in a state of grief.

On receiving information, Harlakhi SHO Jitendra Sahni, additional SHO Aditya Kumar, SI Shatrughan Paswan, PSI Manish Kumar, PSI Seema Kumari reached the spot with a team. The police recovered an empty cartridge from the spot. The police and some media personnel who went to the spot were gheraoed by angry locals, who refused to let them out of the house.

Later, police personnel from multiple precincts, including Sahar Ghat SHO Arvind Kumar and Basopatti SHO Arvind Kumar, reached the spot to rescue them.

The police later took the parents of the accused into custody. They were then taken to the police station for questioning. Harlakhi SHO Jitendra Kumar Sahni said that an investigation is underway and appropriate action will be taken based on their findings.
