Bihar Woman Kills Husband With Children's Tuition Teacher After He Finds Out Her Affair

Tensions were high due to suspected infidelity, with prior interventions failing to reconcile the couple. The wife is in custody, and the family alleges accomplices were involved.

A 30-year-old man was allegedly murdered by his wife in Bihar’s Samastipur district after he reportedly discovered her in an illicit relationship with their children’s tuition teacher, according to police.

The victim, Sonu Kumar, son of Tuntun Jha, was found dead in a pool of blood inside his home in Laguniya Raghukanth village, under the jurisdiction of Mufassil police station, early Saturday morning.

Police said they have registered a case of murder and sent the body for a post-mortem at Sadar Hospital. Sonu’s wife, Smita Jha, has been taken into custody for questioning after initial suspicion fell on her, officials confirmed.

Family Alleges Affair

According to the victim’s father, tensions had been simmering in Sonu and Smita’s six-year marriage, exacerbated by suspicions of infidelity. The couple, who have two children, had frequent arguments that reportedly escalated in recent months.

“A local panchayat had to intervene once, and both sides agreed to reconcile through a written settlement. But things didn’t improve,” Tuntun Jha told reporters, as quoted in a report by Live Hindustan.

He alleged that a man named Hariom Kumar, a tutor from the same village, used to visit their home to teach the children. “One day, my son caught his wife and the tutor in a compromising position,” he claimed.

Although the tutor stopped coming for a while, he later resumed visiting to teach the children of Sonu’s elder brother, which allegedly reignited tensions in the marriage.

Victim Was Last Seen at Midnight

Sonu’s father told police that his son had returned home around midnight on Friday after driving his auto-rickshaw. When he woke up the next morning, he discovered Sonu’s lifeless, bloodied body in his room, while his daughter-in-law sat silently in a corner.

“I saw marks on his neck when I got closer. I believe my son was strangled,” the grieving father told investigators, further alleging that Smita may have killed Sonu with the help of two or three accomplices.

Police officials said that all allegations made by the family are being verified. “We have detained the wife for questioning. Further investigation is underway,” said an officer familiar with the case.
