'I Just Don't Dance, I Kiss': JD(U) MLA's Obscene Dance On Holi Event Stirs Controversy; RJD Slams CM Nitish
Bihar MLA Gopal Mandal sparked controversy by dancing with women and making inappropriate gestures at a Holi event.

Bihar MLA Narendra Kumar Neeraj alias Gopal Mandal stirred controversy recently after a video of him dancing with women went viral on social media. The Janata Dal (United) legislator had organised an event on the occasion of Holi in Naugachia in Bhagalpur district.
In one of the viral videos, as one of the female singers started performing on stage, the legislator from Bhagalpur district's Gopalpur constituency went to her and held the artist's hand.
While in another video, he was seen placing his hand on a female performer's shoulder and sticking a currency note to her cheecks. He was also seen making crude gesture at the woman.
It was not his actions that were inappropriate but the justification he gave was also problematic. Justifying his act, the MLA said, "I don't just dance, I also kiss."
He also claimed that the video of him had been made viral to provoke Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

RJD Slams CM Nitish Kumar
Meanwhile, opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal has slammed CM Nitish over his party MLA's obscene behaviour. "This (incident) shows the lack of values in the JDU led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar," said RJD MLA and party's state general secretary Ranvijay Sahu.
"If the party does not tolerate such conduct, it should take action against Mandal," he demanded.
Another RJD MLA Mukesh Yadav said, "Not just the JD(U), but also its alliance partner BJP, which has sworn by cultural nationalism, should be held accountable for Mandal's reprehensible conduct."

Past Controversy
However, Mandal is not new to controversy and is known to bring disrepute to his party. In 2021, a picture of him went viral on social media where he was seen walking in undergarments on a Delhi-bound train.
A co-passenger who did not identify him as the MLA questioned him for walking "half-naked" in the first class AC coach of the Tejas Rajdhani Express.
Responding to the man, Mandal claimed that there was no woman present in the compartment at the time when he walked past to go to the toilet.
