FIR Filed Against RCB Over Victory Parade Stampede Near Chinnaswamy Stadium In Bengaluru
As many as eleven people were killed and 33 others sustained injuries in the stampede outside Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru during the RCB event on June 4.

The Bengaluru Police filed an FIR against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, DNA (event manager), KSCA Administrative Committee, and others at Cubbon Park Police Station in connection with the stampede outside Chinnaswamy Stadium during the RCB event on June 4. As many as eleven people were killed and 33 others sustained injuries in the stampede. The FIR stated "criminal negligence" as the cause of the incident.
The event, organised by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), was meant to felicitate the RCB, which won the IPL on Tuesday, registering their first-ever victory after 18 years. More than two to three lakh people turned up at the stadium to catch a glimpse of the team members, whereas the stadium could only accomodate 35,000 spectators.
Chaos ensued as fans tried to enter into the stadium from various gates, prompting police to use mild force to control the crowd and bring the situation under control. People were seen collapsing and some who were in an unconscious state being administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) by bystanders. Visuals also showed police shifting the injured persons and those who fell unconscious in ambulances to nearby hospitals.
RCB's 'Free Passes' Post For Victory Parade
Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday ordered a magisterial probe into the incident, and announced Rs 10 lakh compensation for the families of each of the eleven victims. "The stampede incident shouldn't have happened, and the government expresses grief over it," he said.
Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha, who is heading the magisterial probe into the stampede, on Thursday said that notices will be issued to KSCA, RCB, and Police Commissioner B Dayananda to join the inquiry.
RCB on Wednesday had shared a post on X, wherein it announced a victory parade in Bengaluru, and provided a link to people to get their "free passes". This post was shared just two hours before the stampede, and is being seen as one of the primary concerns that might have caused fans to turn up in such huge numbers.
Earlier today, the team had announced Rs 10 lakh compensation for the kin of the deceased and an 'RCB Cares' fund to support the injured.
