Explosion At Illegal Firecracker Factory In Bengal Kills 4, BJP MLA Claims ‘Other Explosives Made Inside'
An illegal firecracker manufacturing unit in Nadia district of West Bengal exploded, killing four people, including three women, and injuring one.

At least four people died and one was injured after an explosion at a firecracker manufacturing unit in Nadia district of West Bengal on Friday, said the police.
Three women were among those who died in the explosion at the factory located in a congested residential area of Rathtala in Kalyani while another woman suffered injuries and is in a critcal state they said, reported PTI.
"Four persons were rescued from the blast site, and later declared dead when taken to the nearby JNM Hospital. The condition of the injured woman is critical," a senior police officer said, adding the cause of the blast is not known yet.
"We are trying to ascertain the identity of the deceased and the injured person, and whether they were workers in the factory," he added.

The officer said that a team of forensic experts was on their way to the spot.
The blast sparked a blaze in the unit which was brought under control by firefighters after around one-and-a-half hours, police said. Further investigation is underway.
Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Ambika Roy slammed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for the incident and demanded a probe by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
"Five people including 4 women and a child have died in this painful incident. Many such incidents have been occurring," Roy said.

"Explosive substances in large numbers were present here. Is it possible that the Police did not have information that a large amount of explosive substances were present here?" he questioned.
"The CM is a complete failure. I demand NIA's investigation into this incident. We will also raise this issue in the Assembly," said the legislator.
BJP leader Agnimitra Paul also alleged conspiracy saying, "n the name of a firecracker factory, other explosions are being made inside... These kinds of incidents have happened before too...What is the local police doing?... In West Bengal, anyone can do any illegal work."
