‘If Kejriwal Is Thinking Of Joining BJP…’: Manjinder Sirsa As AAP Chief Meets BJP Leader Amid Punjab Visit

AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal met BJP's Lakshmi Kanta Chawla in Punjab, sparking speculation about a political move.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal met Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Lakshmi Kanta Chawla during his Punjab visit on Saturday, triggering political discussions.

Kejriwal, who recently completed a 10-day Vipassana meditation session at the Dhamma Dhaja Vipassana Centre (DDVC) in Anandgarh village, arrived in Amritsar on Saturday. News agency PTI cited party sources stating that he would stay in the city until Monday.

His meeting with Chawla prompted a reaction from BJP leader and Delhi minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, who told news agency ANI, "Arvind Kejriwal is visiting different places. If a person is unsuccessful or disappointed, they seek a new path. If Arvind Kejriwal is considering joining the BJP by visiting Lakshmi Kanta Chawla's house, the BJP will never accept him."

Delhi BJP leader and Member of Parliament Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, however, downplayed the meeting, stating, "I do not know whom he has met or whom he has not; it is his personal matter."

Arvind Kejriwal To Visit Golden Temple Tomorrow To Mark 3 Years Of AAP Govt In Punjab

Meanwhile, Kejriwal is staying at the residence of former Punjab cabinet minister and MLA Dr Inderbir Nijjar. According to PTI, party sources mentioned that on Sunday, Kejriwal, along with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, will pay obeisance at the Golden Temple, Durgiana Temple, and Valmiki Tirath Sthal to mark three years of the AAP government in Punjab.

His wife, Sunita Kejriwal, arrived at the PWD Rest House in Amritsar on Friday night before visiting the DDVC on Saturday morning. Several leaders, including Member of Parliament Dr Raj Kumar, Punjab Cabinet Minister Dr Ravjot Singh, and MLAs Brahm Shankar Jimpa and Jasvir Singh Raja Gill, were present at the centre to see him off.
