Twitter Blue Likely To Cost Rs 719 In India, Internet Responds As It Costs More Than $8

In India, users have started reacting to the prompts received for Twitter Blue subscriptions reportedly for Rs 719 per month, which is higher than the charge in the US

The much-debated paid subscription for Twitter Blue seems to be rolling out in India after a bit of delay and is likely to cost Rs719 per month. Twitter Blue has been already been made available for users in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United States, and the United Kingdom. The subscription has been released for iOS devices including iPhones and iPad.

In India, users have started reacting to the prompts received for Twitter Blue subscriptions even as the pricing is yet to be released officially. Going by the reactions of those few receiving the prompts, the price of Twitter Blue in India appears to be higher than that in the US. Twitteratis have already started reacting sharply to Rs719 per month, which translated to $8.93, higher than the usual $8 being charged in other countries.

Earlier this month, Musk confirmed that the new subscription is expected to roll out in India in less than a month. Some users in India have started receiving Twitter Blue access at Rs719 per month ($8.88 to be exact lol), said one of the users.

Users also started comparing the prices to other countries where the service has been released officially.

Heard that @TwitterBlue is available in India at ₹719/month. This is ₹71 higher than US rate. ($8= ₹648) What was the purchasing power parity you were talking about?, wrote another user comparing the prices.

Under the new paid verification, users will get priority in replies, mentions & search, which is essential to defeat spam/scam, according to Musk. Users will have the ability to post long videos and audio; half as many ads and paywall bypass for publishers willing to work with Twitter which will also give the social media platform a revenue stream to reward content creators.
