Twitter Blue That Brings Verified Tick Officially Live Now: Everything You Should Know

After a short delay, the new Twitter Blue, which now costs $8 per month and also brings along a blue verified check mark, has become officially available for iPhone and iPad users.

After a short delay, the new Twitter Blue, which now costs $8 per month and also brings along a blue verified check mark, has become officially available for iPhone and iPad users. Twitter's new boss, Elon Musk began hyping the new Twitter Blue soon after taking over and it is officially available now for iOS users.

It should be noted that iOS users in India can avail of some of the features of Twitter Blue after the initial launch of the premium subscription service by updating the app to the new version. One will have to pay for Twitter Blue to get verified on the micro-blogging platform, as per the new update on the Apple App Store.

Twitter Blue becomes live after a short delay

Twitter Blue was supposed to debut earlier this week and according to Musk promises “half as many ads" and features like verification, priority in replies, mentions and search and the new subscription. This means Twitter users who have subscribed to the $7.99 package will instantly get the Twitter blue tick instantly.

According to Twitter's help page: "Now the blue checkmark may mean two different things: either that an account was verified under the previous verification criteria (active, notable, and authentic), or that the account has an active subscription to Twitter’s new Twitter Blue subscription service, which was made available on iOS in the US, Canada, Australia New Zealand and the UK on November 9, 2022."

"Accounts that receive the blue checkmark as part of a Twitter Blue subscription will not undergo review to confirm that they meet the active, notable and authentic criteria that was used in the previous process."

Meanwhile, the company is set to announce an "official" label for some verified accounts when it launches its new and debated $8 premium subscription product, some reports say. According to Twitter's early-stage products executive Esther Crawford, the Twitter official label would be applied to select verified accounts including major media outlets and governments, said a report by news agency Reuters.

“Accounts that will receive [the label] include government accounts, commercial companies, business partners, major media outlets, publishers and some public figures,” Crawford tweeted.
