The business tycoon has purchased India's first Boeing 737 MAX 9, making it the most expensive private jet owned by any Indian industrialist.

With a net worth of Rs 9.2 lakh crore, as estimated by Forbes, Ambani is no stranger to high-end acquisitions. His latest purchase, a Boeing 737 MAX 9, comes with a base price of $118.5 million (about Rs 987 crore). However, after custom modifications and retrofitting, the overall cost reportedly exceeded Rs 1,000 crore, as per Times Now report.

The Boeing 737 MAX 9, known for its superior range and comfort, boasts a spacious cabin and larger cargo capacity than its predecessor, the Boeing MAX 8. The jet, equipped with two CFMI LEAP-1B engines, can cover an impressive distance of 6,355 nautical miles (11,770 km) in a single journey. Journey to India

Before arriving in India, Ambani’s Boeing 737 MAX 9 underwent extensive modifications at EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg in Switzerland. The aircraft’s interior was customised to Ambani’s specifications, and it completed six test flights in Switzerland and the UK before making its final journey from Basel to Delhi on August 27, covering 6,234 km in just over nine hours.

Currently, the jet is parked at Delhi Airport and is expected to reach Mumbai, the headquarters of Reliance Industries, soon.
