EY India Advises Remote Work Amid Rising India-Pakistan Tensions: Report
The precautionary measure follows a series of attempted drone and missile attacks by Pakistan on Indian military installations, prompting several states to initiate emergency protocols

In response to heightened geopolitical tensions and escalating cross-border hostilities, global consulting firm Ernst & Young (EY) India has instructed employees across several northern cities to work from home today. The precautionary measure follows a series of attempted drone and missile attacks by Pakistan on Indian military installations, prompting several states to initiate emergency protocols.
According to an internal communication accessed by Moneycontrol, EY directed staff at its offices in Delhi NCR, Chandigarh, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad to operate remotely on Friday, citing employee safety and current security concerns. “In light of the security situation and keeping well-being of our employees in mind, all our employees in Delhi NCR, Chandigarh, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad offices are advised to work from home on Friday, 9th May 2025,” the memo stated. For offices in other locations, employees were encouraged to assess the local situation and consider working from home. The company also confirmed it is closely monitoring developments and will provide further updates over the weekend.

India-Pakistan Conflict
This advisory comes in the wake of a significant escalation in conflict between India and Pakistan. Late Thursday night, Indian air defense systems intercepted at least eight missiles and multiple drones targeting areas in Jammu, Pathankot, and other sensitive regions. While the attacks were thwarted, the incident has triggered a wave of high-alert responses across multiple states.
Authorities in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, Gujarat, West Bengal, and Bihar have taken swift action to ensure public safety. Measures include temporary school closures, power blackouts in vulnerable districts, and the suspension of leave for police and administrative personnel.
As tensions along the border remain high, corporations and state administrations alike are adopting cautious strategies to safeguard civilians and critical infrastructure. EY’s remote work directive underscores the broader corporate response to the unfolding security crisis.
