Will The Thar Armada Be More Costly Than The Mahindra Scorpio N?

The Thar Armada would be a 5-door version of the Thar but will have many crucial changes in terms of being more premium plus getting more features

Mahindra is readying its next big launch and it would be the Thar Armada which would be launched by the 15th of August. The Thar Armada would be a 5-door version of the Thar but will have many crucial changes in terms of being more premium plus getting more features.

The Thar Armada will get a new digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch screen similar to the 3XO while the feature list would include a sunroof, a more premium audio system, rear view camera, rear ac vents, LED lighting and lots more. That said it will also borrow the powertrains from the Scorpio N in terms of its diesel and turbo petrol.

The configuration would include 4x2 and 4x4 variants of the petrol and diesel- unlike the Scorpio N. The other interesting bit would be the prices which could be more than the Scorpio N as the Scorpio N currently starts from Rs 13.8 lakh while the 3-door Thar starts from Rs 11.3 lakh. We expect the prices to start from Rs 15 lakh plus for the Thar Armada while the top-end could also breach the Rs 25 lakh barrier.

The Thar Armada is suitably more premium than the 3-door and Mahindra is clearly marking a difference between the two cars. It will also get more convenience features over the 3-door Thar include a remote fuel filler cap opening and more comfort plus more space obviously. This year promises to be full of launches for Mahindra and while it started with the XUV400 plus the XUV 3XO as seen a few days back, the Thar Armada would be easily one of the most anticipated new cars of this year especially in the SUV segment.
