Toyota To Reveal Creta's Rival Hyryder Hybrid On July 1 — Features & Specifications
The subcompact SUV will be shared with Maruti under Toyota and Suzuki’s joint venture.
New Delhi: Toyota will show its much-awaited all-new compact midsize SUV by the 1st of July and it will most likely be called as Hyryder. The Hyryder would be positioned in the Creta segment and would be placed below the Fortuner and above the Urban Cruiser.
One crucial aspect that will make this SUV stand out is the strong hybrid powertrain that it will get. The Hyryder will get a 1.5l petrol but also electric motors and a battery pack.
Being fully hybrid means that it will also have various modes including a mode to drive in electric power alone for a few km like other strong hybrids. The entry-level variant will get a 1.5l petrol but without the full hybrid system and come with only a mild hybrid start/stop system.
We expect the Hyryder to be the most fuel-efficient SUV in its class with the full hybrid version having the better mileage figure.
The Hyryder has been developed with Maruti Suzuki but for now, we will get the Toyota version earlier, and later we will see the Maruti version.
Both SUVs would be different looking too. The interiors would be feature-rich including having a big touchscreen and features like a heads-up display unit along with a 360-degree view camera, connected car technology, cooled seats, and climate control. There would also be a sunroof but whether panoramic or not we have to see it.
Space-wise, the Hyryder would be getting a wheelbase which would make it a rival to the likes of the Creta. Toyota is known worldwide for hybrid technology and the high localization for the hybrid could be a key to its aggressive expected pricing. We will see the SUV on the 1st of July while the market launch will be later.
