Take A Look At The New Electric SUV From Honda

Honda will launch a slew of EVs starting with SUV. Called as the Honda SUV E prototype, the new EV only SUV seems to be based on the new HR-V.  Being an EV there is no need for a conventional grille and the front has the charging port. The design is striking and clean while the concept has bigger wheels too.

EVs are the latest trend amongst car-makers and everyone is jumping onto it. Honda is the latest to showcase its EV plans and also its vision to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. For that, it will launch a slew of EVs starting with the SUV shown here. Called as the Honda SUV E prototype, this new EV only SUV seems to be based on the new HR-V.

Alongside EVs, Honda plans to launch more hybrid and plug-in hybrid models in the future. Worldwide Honda already has launched a pure electric small car which has been received fairly well for its quirky design and packaging. The Honda e brand starts with a hatchback while various markets will receive more models.

Back to this concept and this hints at a production EV midsize SUV which is due for launch in 2022. While India does not feature in the markets where it will be eventually sold, we think a midsize electric SUV can establish Honda in the SUV space better than any conventional engined model. The concept has an attractive design with illuminated logos and LED headlamps plus LED strips elsewhere.

Being an EV there is no need for a conventional grille and the front has the charging port. The design is striking and clean while the concept has bigger wheels too. It is a very simple but something which looks modern and well integrated with what we normally associate Honda with. The rear is also attractive while it has a light bar which runs across.

Honda says this concept has its latest technology and features like the latest Honda Connect along with OTA updates. No word on the range and powertrain but we expect a minimum range of 400km. Overall, this EV only SUV holds promise and Honda would do well if this comes here.
