Skoda Slavia Monte Carlo Review: Black ORVMs, Dual Tone Sunroof, More

Skoda Slavia Monte Carlo: Based on the top-end Slavia variant, the Monte Carlo is a cosmetic upgrade in terms of a sportier look

The Slavia is a good looking sedan but like the Kushaq, the Monte Carlo treatment makes it even better looking. Based on the top-end Slavia variant, the Monte Carlo is a cosmetic upgrade in terms of a sportier look. There are only two colours on offer with the Tornado Red and Candy White but the red in particular looks appealing with the black contrast elements.

The front grille is black and the same goes for the front fog lamp garnish. Elsewhere, there are black ORVMs, dual tone sunroof, Monte Carlo badging, door handles with dark chrome accents and black window garnish.

Move to the rear and the lettering is black and there is a black rear spoiler too. As you might guess there are 16-inch black alloys. We think it looks great and is not overdone while the paint finish is lovely too. Inside, there is the same red and black combo but not too much of red which is what we again quite like. There is red stitching, red inserts, aluminium pedals and black/red combo seats. Being based on the top-end model, you get features like ventilated seats, digital dials, sunroof and more.

In terms of powertrains there is no change with the 1.0 TSI in manual and automatic form plus the more powerful 1.5 TSI in DSG form with no manual available with this engine.  We do think some changes in the suspension or steering would have made it sportier in terms of its driving experience but the Slavia has always been a good handler while dynamically it remains the same.

Cosmetically, the new Slavia Monte Carlo looks more appealing and the Monte Carlo treatment makes it stand out from the other Slavia's on the road which is why you would buy one.
