MG Windsor: The New CUV Name Revealed For Indian Market
The Windsor will slot above the Comet and below the ZS while earlier we have said that the price range to be under Rs 20 lakh
JSW and MG Motor has officially revealed the name of its upcoming CUV and it is called the Windsor, which is inspired by the Windsor Castle. The Windsor will slot above the Comet and below the ZS while earlier we have said that the price range to be under Rs 20 lakh. We expect a 50.6 kWh battery pack to be available in India and the range could be in the region of 460 km.
While in other markets, it is called Cloud, the Windsor here could also come with a front axle mounted electric motor. The Windsor is based on a pure electric architecture which means it will have more space and it is a crossover being billed as an intelligent CUV or crossover utility vehicle.
As shared by the teaser image, the Windsor looks like a swoopy crossover with a mix of being a sedan plus an SUV. We can expect a full light bar at the nose plus details like flush door handles too while it will have a generous glass house or large windows. Plus it will get premium features including seats that fully recline while getting a full safety suite including ADAS and a 360 degree camera plus more.
The JSW MG Windsor would be revealed next month for our market and would be launched around the festive season with competitive pricing being expected. This is the first new product under JSW and MG Motor with more in the pipeline. Upon launch, the Windsor will compete with other EV compact SUVs within the sub Rs 20 lakh price bracket. We will get more details regarding the Windsor closer to the launch in the Indian market.
