MG has officially announced that its Air EV will hit Indian roads by next year. The Air EV would be it's a mass-market electric car and would be placed below the ZS as its most affordable electric car. The shape is indeed interesting and has a futuristic city car-like shape along with being one of the smallest cars in terms of length. It is short in length and that would enable it to be easy to park in our congested cities.
The styling is unique with a light bar that runs across the entire front end while the charging port is below. The detailing is futuristic too with foglamps below being designed in an interesting way. The big highlight is the big door which would allow for easy engress/ingress plus there is a vertical window too for an airier cabin.
While it would be mass-market, MG will equip it with loads of features including a large touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster plus more.
Despite its length, the wheelbase would be fairly long and enable it to be decently spacious.
Exact details regarding the range and battery pack are not out but we expect a decent range to be offered.
The Air EV would be expected to make its debut at the 2023 Auto Expo and would be one of the most affordable EVs which is a ground-up electric car.
The car will also be used to ferry delegates at the G20 Summit.
Currently, the only possible competition for the Air EV would be the Tiago EV which was launched recently.
MG will also likely offer various services regarding charging and expanding its reach to enable more mass-market EV buyers.
For now, this radical EV is an interesting launch for sure.
