Will Maruti Fronx Be The First Maruti To Get 5 Star GNCAP Crash Test Safety Rating?
The Fronx SUV is based on the Baleno and gets a stronger platform plus structure.
The GNCAP safety ratings have been talked about a lot and so far, only a few cars have been crash-tested. However, the Fronx from Maruti Suzuki could be the first car to get a 5-star crash safety rating. The Fronx SUV is based on the Baleno and gets a stronger platform plus structure. Hence, it could get a 4 or 5-star rating with more safety features on board along with stronger, heavier build quality.
The new 2022 Baleno has seen changes with a stronger structure and more weight which makes the car much more changed from the earlier version. If you talk about the weight of the Fronx, the vehicle has a gross weight of 1450kg while the turbo version is heavier at 1480kg.

The Fronx based on the Baleno is expected to also perform well in crash tests. In terms of safety features the Fronx will come with features like a head-up display, 360-degree camera, ESP, 6 airbags with dual as standard, ISOFIX, and more. The Fronx comes with a 1.2l petrol engine and it would be the only Maruti car to offer turbo petrol with this type of engine making a return to Maruti cars after the RS Baleno.
The Fronx with the 1.2l petrol will come with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT automatic while the turbo petrol will come with either a 6-speed automatic torque converter with paddle shifters or a 5-speed manual. To be retailed via Nexa sales outlets, the Fronx SUV is a sporty coupe-like design and would be slotting under the Grand Vitara in terms of being an under 4m SUV while being above the Baleno hatchback. Prices for the Fronx will be revealed soon as well.
