Delhi Traffic Police is preparing to take strict action against those who play loud music in their vehicle. In the last few days, more than three thousand challans for noise pollution have been issued

Challan for Noise Pollution: Ahead of Diwali, Delhi Traffic Police has started taking strict action against people who indulge in causing any form of pollution, be it air or noise pollution. While a campaign is being launched for giving out pollution certificates, challans are now being issued to people playing loud music through music systems in their cars. About 4,000 challans have been handed to rule-breakers in Delhi in the last 15 days.

These many challans have been handed out so far:
According to the report from the Noise Pollution Control Committee, Delhi Traffic Police has issued 3,887 challans due to modified silencers in the past 15 days, whereas 1177 challans have been issued due to the usage of pressure horns. Apart from this, 65 challans for using the horn in silent zones.

Teams deployed for PUC checks:
The Transport Department of the Delhi Government has appealed to drivers in the city to get the PUC documents checked by the teams deployed at the fuel stations. About 50 teams have been deployed at different fuel stations in Delhi, which are in charge of checking the PUC certificates of the drivers. If they do not have this certificate, they would be encouraged to get it made.

Purpose of the campaign:
According to news agency PTI, this campaign would aim to encourage drivers to get their PUC certificate made if they don't have one. Instead of fining them, they would be asked to get it made. On the other hand, if the driver refuses to get it made, he may face additional action. The purpose of this campaign is to reduce rising pollution levels in the area.
