2021 BMW 6 Series GT Facelift Review | Price And Specifications
The 6 Series GT slots between the 5 and the 7 Series but is priced closer to the 5. It is for those who want a more stylish car rather than a standard sedan.
New Delhi: BMW has been on a launching spree but all of its products are carefully aimed at the volume end along with a sound pricing strategy too. The M340i which was launched recently sold out just a few months before its official launch.
Sleeker body:
The latest 6 Series GT is another potential sales hit. In this area of the luxury segment, customers like to be driven around and the new 6 Series GT is made just for the extended body and a wheelbase longer than the 5 Series. The 6 Series GT basically slots between the 5 and the 7 Series but is priced closer to the 5. It is for those who want a more stylish car rather than a standard sedan.
It is a big car with a length of 5,091mm but looks more stylish than a 5 Series with its sloping rear and its notchback design. New to this car is the bigger grille (not as bigger as other BMWs), new bumper and new BMW laserlights. Of course a signature GT design trait is the rear spoiler which you can control via a button (or it is deployed automatically post high speed) and it looks cooler with it no doubt. Overall, it does look stunning and turns a lot of heads- more so than a 5 Series!
All about the details
The interior is even better and you really get your money's worth. A wonderful cabin with quilting on the seats, leather, metal surfaces. A bigger touch screen and a fully digital instrument cluster gives it a futuristic vibe. The touch screen is now 12.3-inch in size and of course there is no faulting in the graphics or touch. The fully digital 12.3-inch display for the instrument cluster has a radical design- while many will miss the old dials, the new one looks snazzy. Also changed are the steering controls.
The 6 Series GT is for the "backseat driver" though and for being chauffeur driven, there is a large amount of space on the inside. You can even adjust the backrest electronically plus it even has cushions for extra comfort! Further on there is a massive panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control, rear-seat entertainment system with two screens and a 16-speaker Harman kardon audio system.
Let's talk power
You have four and six cylinder engines for the diesel and petrol. We drove the 630i GT with 258hp and 400Nm. It is like any BMW to drive as the engine feels eager and you do not feel you are driving a massive car. It has air suspension too and that adds to the comfort factor on our roads. So while in comfort it soaks up our roads, in sport it feels tighter and like any BMW.
Price at Rs 67.9 lakh starting, the 6 Series GT is the perfect BMW if you want to be driven around and also drive yourself from time to time. The quality, luxury and performance is all there.
Final take
What we like - Look, Features, Quality, Space, Performance
What we do not like - Not as fun to drive as a 5 Series
