Bajaj Pulsar P150 Vs N160: Which Motorcycle Makes More Sense?

No doubt that with the P150, the 150 Pulsar has moved up a notch in terms of being premium while aesthetically closing down the gap with its siblings.

Bajaj has brought out yet another iteration of the Pulsar in form of P150 with the 150 Pulsar being in an all new avatar. That said, with the N160 also being there, the question is whether Pulsar fits within the affordable sporty motorcycle genre better plus whether it makes sense to get the pricier N160. No doubt that with the P150, the 150 Pulsar has moved up a notch in terms of being premium while aesthetically closing down the gap with its siblings.

In terms of design, the gap has narrowed with the P150 looking similar to the N160 while being more aggressive when compared to the 150. As sculpted tank and under-belly exhaust are some of the notable changes from the older 150 and it is in-turn like the more powerful N250 as well. The N160 also has an underbelly exhaust while the rakish headlamp design marks it out.

Both the bikes get a semi-digital display and USB charging point too.

Of course the big difference between the two is in terms of outright power obviously with the N160 Pulsar having a 164.82cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine which develops 16hp at 8,750rpm and 14.65Nm at 6,750rpm. The P150 on the other hand has a 149.68cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled which in-turn makes 14.3bhp and 13.5Nm. Both bikes get a 5-speed gearbox. Another difference over more power is the dual-channel ABS which the N160 now offers.

The Pulsar N160 is the sportier motorcycle along with bigger brakes plus having more power too. All this makes the N160 a more performance oriented buy at Rs 1.23 lakh ex-showroom over the Rs 1.17 lakh P150. There is a price difference between the two which means it appeals to different sets of riders. The P150 will replace the old 150 Pulsar range with catering to a more practical oriented rider.
